Support we offer

How we can help:

There are many ways in which we may be able to help you if you have ever served or are still serving in the Armed Forces, or are a member of the Armed Forces community on the Isle of Wight.

Service Leaver Support

Support for serving members of the Armed Forces that are in the process or about to embark on their journey transitioning from military life to civilian life.

Civilian life is different and we are here to help with any questions you may have and completely understand the challenges you will face. We can help with job applications, writing CV's etc too.

Supporting Dandelion Children

Dandelion children - children of serving military personnel. We aim to unite these children on the island and provide an annual party where they can get to know each other and spend time with like minded children who understand what it is like to be regularly on the move.

Monthly weekend coffee mornings

Contrary to popular belief, not all veterans are retired! Many have gone on to have really successful second careers, but they may be on their own. There is a lot going on during the week for veterans on the island, but there is not much at weekends, which is when those that are still working tend to be available. We therefore host a free coffee morning every month (rotating between Ryde, Shanklin and Newport) to help combat loneliness and foster the sense of military community that so many miss when they leave the services. Check the events page for details of the next one.
If you need assistance and are not sure who is best placed to help you, we can signpost you to the most appropriate place, depending on your specific needs.
If we get to a position where we have sufficient funds, we can potentially look into helping fund travel to mainland appointments if you have health needs relating to your service.

PLEASE NOTE: this is not available at the moment as the charity is in its infancy, but we hope to be in a position to offer this in the future. This post will be updated if this becomes available.
